This is the letter they want people to send to denounce the Democratic Party.
Please copy, print and sign the letter below. You may, of course, customize it! Mail it to the DNC anytime between June 1 and June 8. Then go to your voter registration office or website and change your party affiliation. You’ll find all the info you need for your states rules and regs in the blog section. I encourage non-party affiliates who lean Democratic to participate, as well.

To Howard Dean and Members of the Democratic National Committee (DNC),This is to inform you that I have officially denounced the Democratic Party and changed my political affiliation to Independent or other*, effective this first week of June, 2008.
My reasons are numerous; beginning with the fact that it is readily apparent the Democratic Party leaders have their own agenda. Unfortunately, that agenda will cost the Democratic Party the White House in November. The Party no longer represents what is best for the people of the United States- as it clearly plans to disenfranchise more than 2.5 million voters of Florida and Michigan. I cannot and will not subscribe to a party who patronizes us by stating delegates “will be sat as long as it doesn’t alter the outcome”.
In addition, I am deeply concerned about the DNC’s obvious endorsement of Sen. Barack Obama. This premature, albeit unofficial, endorsement has done a disservice to all Democratic Presidential candidates and has played a major role in sweeping an unqualified, unchallenged, and unseasoned candidate to the forefront of a presidential race he cannot win. Sen. Obama lacks the experience, fortitude, and stamina to withstand what will face the Democratic nominee in the General Election. His severe lack of judgment in his personal and business relations have contributed damaging fodder for not only the media and opposing Democrats, but for Republicans, and we have only scratched the surface. The DNC must recognize that the media’s on-going love affair with Sen. Obama will end the moment he has the nomination as they are almost all right-wing outlets.
Election and polling records provide proof positive that Sen. Obama cannot win states that are crucial for a Democratic victory. Contrary to David Axelrod’s assertion that the Party does not need Senator Clinton’s solid base to win the General, the Party does need that base and the stats confirm it. Sen. Obama has also alienated an abundance of Sen. Clinton supporters who have stated they won’t, and will not support him in the General Election; that number exceeds 38%. That is a huge gamble for the DNC and I assure you, Sen. Clinton’s supporters will follow through. We will not unite behind Sen. Obama.
Despite all of his assertions that he is a great unifier, Sen. Obama has done the exact opposite in these past months. He has succeeded in dividing not only the Democratic Party, but to pit race against race, young against old, and men against women. I will not support Sen. Obama as a presidential candidate and I will not be “coming home,” regardless of who assumes the Democratic nomination.
Should Sen. Clinton succeed in obtaining the nomination, she will have my full support. However, any financial contributions will be made directly to her campaign and not to the DNC. She is the only Democratic candidate that has the ability, experience and fortitude to beat Republican nominee, Sen. John McCain. The GOP has voiced this concern repeatedly, recognizing that it can soundly beat Sen. Obama but beating Sen. Clinton would prove virtually impossible.
I would hope that at this crucial juncture the DNC will do the right thing by seating the Florida and Michigan delegates, by giving voice to the voters of those two states. The DNC must ensure that it puts forth the Democratic candidate who is most prepared, most qualified, most vetted, and most able to beat Sen. John McCain in the General Election, she who exercises the best judgment and exhibits the most concern for the future of this great country!
Sincerely, (name and address)
*If you are a FL or MI resident, or from a state that has not voted in the primary yet, please pay close attention to the DNC Rules and Regs meeting taking place on May 31. IF a re-vote is imminent, you may want to wait until afterwards, depending on whether your state holds “open” primaries. Pay close attention- Howard Dean has said that he wants to seat the delegates from these states, providing that doing so “does not alter the outcome of the nomination”. That is outrageous and absolutely unacceptable.

Just so you know they’re out there. Not sure I’m ready to join McCain’s camp yet. Let’s see how the convention goes!
I haven’t lost faith yet…. still fighting for Hillary to be our 44th President. If not that, the 45th!

Decisions! Decisions! I wonder if Michelle and the girls will change churches, too? I’m sure there will be a big fight to get him into their church. Hey, I wonder if they’ll pick a white church… nah, probably a mixed church. I know nothing about churches but one thing I have learned in following politics…. ya gotta have one in this country if you’re running for election!
Guess the old church worked okay for Obie when he was running for black votes.

R.I.P.
CNN seemed genuinely surprised that Clinton supporters were so angry about the Rules Committee decision. I don’t think MSM knows what’s going on… half the voters have voted for Hillary, then they take delegates away from her… give delegates to Obama, and they’re surprised that people are angry???
The CNN reporter at the Rules Committee meeting said even Obama supporters were surprised at the anger displayed outside the building by Clinton supporters. They really don’t get it, do they? We’re mad as hell!

Interesting tidbit in this article about Axelrod and the nasty Reverend Pfleger. Will we see Obama get rid of Axelrod, too? Raises the question, “Will Obama have anyone left after this campaign?”
Pfleger is the subject of a documentary being made by Chicago-based David Axelrod, Obama’s top strategist. On Friday, Axelrod told me in an e-mail that the film project has “been dormant for much of the last two years due to other commitments.”

Look at that smile… right at home with his comrades.
This is the band that opened for Obama in Portland and attracted approx. 75,000 people to listen. It was a nice, sunny day in perpetually rainy OR, too. This is presented to give you further information about the candidates. This is a piece of the article…
The band’s name refers to an 1825 revolt over the Imperial Russian succession (Decembrist revolt), that Meloy views as an attempted communist revolution. It is not related to the Bolshevik Revolution of 1917. Their name is also a reference to the atmosphere associated with the month of December. The band has used the National Anthem of the Soviet Union as an introduction at many concerts.

The story at the link above is one of the reasons I want Obama to answer some questions.
I’m always trying to understand why people are in the Obama camp. Last night, in conversation with an undecided voter who’s wife voted for Clinton in the primary but is now an Obama supporter, he argued that Obama wouldn’t be a bad president if he could get elected so I asked my usual question. ”Name one thing that Obama has actually done for the voters he’s represented.” He couldn’t name a single thing… most people when asked that question can’t… because he didn’t improve his Chicago constituent’s life and even had another elected official credit him with presenting and getting passed bills that weren’t his in order to elevate his reputation for his Senate race. He did nothing while in the Senate even though he had the opportunity. Obama spent more of his time on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee on speeches and inspirational trips than on investigations and aggressive oversight.
When Obama took charge of the European affairs subcommittee in early 2007, he didn’t seize the opportunity to scrutinize the Bush administration. With his campaign in full swing, the senator did not lead a single policy hearing on any of the hot topics in the panel’s jurisdiction: missile defense, counterterrorism and concern over the waning commitment of European countries to NATO.
I’ve come to the conclusion that even people who consider themselves well-educated about both candidates are not. Many of them know plenty about Hillary; some dislike her, but seldom does anyone tell me anything about Obama except that he’s black and he draws big crowds (because he books popular bands as noted in an earlier post here) and he’s got more delegates. That’s it. Nothing else.
When I ask this person last night if he wasn’t disturbed by the ranting, hate-filled videos coming from Obama’s church, he attributed them to what happens in black churches. It’s just the way it is, folks, is what many believe. I think many people don’t watch the news and haven’t seen those videos, too. The guy I was talking to didn’t put 2+2 together to think that Obama sat in that church for twenty years. People don’t read and they’re bored by the news. Which is why it is so important that the people who do watch the news and have the time to ‘vet’ these candidates, do. It would have been great if our elected officials had done their job and weeded the poor candidates out of the process before it got to this state but here we are.
The buzz is that Republicans have given lots of money to Obama’s campaign. They know he’ll be easier to beat. There’s also conversation about tapes of Obama and his wife saying despicable things about whites. Those tapes are allegedly in the hands of the Republicans and will be used at the right time in the General Election if Obama is the nominee. I don’t know if that’s true; if it is, the Democrats are giving up the chance to win this election by not doing their job. Begone, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid!

The meeting is on CSPAN, channel 24 in the PNW area.
11:50am PDT - Donna Brazile, the most committed uncommitted super delegat ever, goes off on the Rules Committee. She is serious about getting Obie the nomination. She is asking that the people who voted “uncommitted” in MI be seated for Obama. She mentioned her mother and what her mama taught her about following the rules.
